Perspective

When you walk down the road, you encounter people, you listen to what they say, you look at what they do, you try to figure out their thoughts. Even for myself, I try to understand what am I doing, to find purpose, if any and to ponder whether, should everything be driven by purpose and goals and dreams, to reflect whether what I do is right? Should it?

People tend to perceive things superficially or think as what they should think, be it influenced by society and their peers, their thoughts altered to fit into the setting ideally and peacefully. Goals and objectives may seem very simple or to some such becomes ambitiously complex and far-fetched. Some might ask why, ask how. And I have seriously no answers to such simple questions. Of course, you might find me being stupid for not being able to answer simple questions like that. But do you know that there are no definite answers to such questions. My answers keep changing, my perspective ever changing, where there is no right nor wrong, no success nor failure , and I don't even know why do I feel that way. This is not pessimism nor optimism nor is it apathy. It doesn't matter. I can always choose not to answer that question.

People are getting too blinded and lightheaded as they advance in life, by the increase in luxury, the power, and every desire that they got hold of. And when this day come, it will undoubtedly be the beginning of his downfall.

There is no definite purpose, only dreams, ideals that we can look and smile at.

):

I'm very sad, very very sad.

Now, I've lost myself in this struggle.

The cheerfulness, carefreeness I used to have.

The love.

The enthusiasm.

The control over situations.

Confidence

Charisma

Optimism.

Hope.

All of that.. are gone from my heart, leaving behind a worser loneliness that I ever experienced.

When all that purpose disappear, the road in front of you blurs out and you have lost the tenacity to excel and succeed. You don't know for who do you fight for, and why do you fight.

Now, where's that solitude that I seek?

...

Spiraling deeper into the abyss, as the wolf cries upon the moon, yearning for love.

The LAWs of NATURE

The absolute fundamental laws which I came up with when they struck across my head when I was doing my work.

The work is constantly progressing, to find the solution to the equation of life, (not the answer to creation but rather the answer to existence) and the answer to many natural systems.

1. All natural systems exist in stable or unstable states and they will indefinitely drive themselves to a critical state, with or without any external forces acting on the systems.

2. There is a natural tendency for systems to oppose change and to shift to a favourable state of equilibrium when a change is brought about be it by the system or by others.

3. All systems and bodies behave to a certain degree of uncertainty. (That's why plans will never be 100% successful.)

4. The sum of all infinite parameters, systems, states of the universe is always a constant and at a certain dynamic equilibrium and and these (like energy) cannot be created, lost nor destroyed.

5. If A is related to B and B is related to C, then A, B and C are related and that the state of each body is dependent on the state of others. No two bodies are isolated in the universe.

6. Everything in the universe is and behaves relativistically, the existence of one general state will spontaneously create the opposite state, thus the existence of the coupling of states but we cannot say that one state only exist. i.e. light, darkness ; hot, cold ; good, evil; positive, negative

*7. All systems behave rationally and they will drive themselves towards self-interests. Rationality is a protectionistic behaviour, which ensure survival.

*8. Nature's most fitting "market" structure is a perfectly competitive one and that explains the (evolutionary) protectionist behaviour that system will gradually protect themselves. Systems compete for stability and immortality.

9. System diversity is the reason for the deviation from ideality of systems.

10. There is ultimately no win-win situations, based on the fundamental natural law 4 the gain made by one will indefinitely cause another to lose. The change is brought about by the interaction from another system body based on law 3 and 5.

* are hypothesis and need further refining. (updated 29/9)

For fun and joy, for the win

Come to think of it, it's time to add a new entry to commemorate:

1. 44th National Day
2. 3 months as a NUS student
3. End of O Week and Start of AY09/10

Well, true indeed the past 2 weeks have been very fun and exciting, to be re-oriented with the science culture, to meet new friends and assimilate new social circles, to discover secret talents from within, to unleash total insanity, and to relieve old ties with some.

Much comparable to SCamp, although not as crazy and mentally draining, I had more fun in SOW (Science Orientation Week)- it was wise decision made in joining SOW despite hesitations to switch over to the rag side. My OG, Gambit was superb with all the enthusiastic seniors and freshmen alike where we all shared a common goal- for friendship and for the fun. Even though Gambit did not win the best OG nor XMen for the best house, we all know that in our hearts that we are at our best, the best that we are, and always be. The efforts and commitment by the OHLs, OGLs, seniors can be seen, to make the SOW FOP as enjoyable, as fruitful as possible. Thank you all!! Too, I am somehow, inspired by their passion that spurred me on to be part of next year's FOPs.(I know by typing this, I'm just further sabo-ing myself to be arrowed into next year's committee) Maybe it's just the unity forged through the participation, sounds familiar huh.

And sadly, when good times pass quickly, and those exciting 2 weeks have come to a close, as we all embark on a new academic year. May we not forget the times of joy and laughter that we share during this times, when we broke the ice and forged new strong bonds. Friendships that will last and not be easily shattered, deep in the hearts we are allies, brothers and sisters in arms, to help, to share, to care and to uphold the spirit of Science.

SCAMPed

SCAMP was one of the fun and craziest camp I ever attended, where people would go all out to do stupid things just to get SCAMP dollars. I never regretted joining the camp despite even thought of forgoing it at first. The seniors are really nice, approachable and fun people who show unlimited passion and commitment to the camp even when things go wrong. The impression was flawed after all.

Things we did:
Games,
Beach games
Amazing race
Chalet
Night walk (replaced from frightnight due to past accidents)
Secret Pal (SP)
Bash, happy hour

It is hard for me to describe in words, see the pictures on facebook instead. A picture tells a thousand words...

Now I truly believe that the sense of belonging and identity is not given but earned through participation and involvement. Success comes through effort and indomitable faith. All these must combine in order to"earn a place among (our) fellow man"

But involvement needs time and money lor, my balance of payments is negative for june, need to top up from savings. Sighs. Money money come come, if only money can be earned as easily as scamp dollars.

For June:

Income= 0
Expenditure= $75 (uni admin fee) +$55 (SCAMP)+ $70 (OAC) + $12 (RF camp) + $80 (F&B), + $70 (present), + $30 (transport) + $50 (recreation) = $442... (I haven't shop for my stuff yet)
